UAB will have its annual homecoming celebration the week of Oct. 13 - 18. Exciting activities are planned throughout the week, capped off with the Green and White Gridiron Fight. Starting this month, Greencup Books will be featuring the works of new (and new-to-Birmingham) poets and writers. To get in on the action, submit one poem to mike@greencupbooks.org. Be prepared to read for at least seven minutes. Greencup Books will feature between five and seven new readers per month. The first reading will be held Saturday, and hosted by Amethyst Vineyard. Greencup Books is located at 105 Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd. S., Birmingham, Ala., 35233. Greencup Books is a nonprofit community bookstore and publisher.
