FAQs

How can I find materials which have been placed on reserve for my class?

Physical Course Reserves:

Books on Course Reserve can be found at the HUB on the first floor of the library. Students must present a valid UAB student ID at the time of checkout. The reserve items circulate for a three hour period and must be used within the library building. Items returned late accrue a fine of $1 per hour late.

E-Reserves:

Your instructor will inform you if there are electronic reserves for your course. You will need the password from your instructor to access the course page. Lister Hill Library cannot give it out due to copyright laws. Usually your instructor will have given you the URL and password to your course’s page. If so, enter the URL into your web browser and skip to number 3 of the progression below. If you do not have the URL on hand, you can also access your course E-reserves by going to our E-Res system and following the steps below:
  • Click on 'Electronic Reserves & Course Materials.'
  • Use the tabs to find your course as needed.
  • Be sure to read the copyright disclaimer and enter the password before clicking 'Accept.'
  • Click on the item you want and view articles and book chapters as desired. You may also be prompted to enter your Blazer ID and password when accessing items on E-Reserve.
