How much does ILLiad/Document Delivery (ILL) cost?
For UAB Customers: For items requested through ILLiad, the cost to you can range from FREE (usually for items available at another university in the state) to $3 (articles from other libraries around the country) to $6 (articles via Get It Now). Currently, LHL subsidizes each request with money from the LHL collections fund.
Document Delivery fees are not be subsidized and are $10. If you request an article that we have access to electronically, we'll cancel the request and send you the link to the article at no charge. If you have problems opening the link, contact Reference at 205-934-2231 or via Ask a Librarian.
Please note: During the construction on the ground floor, journals from 1995+ have been moved to remote storage and will not be available for you to retrieve on your own.
To request copies of articles in these journals, request the article via ILLiad. Select the "$10.00 (LHL Collection)" option for Delivery Source. This fee will be waived once we process your request.
If you need an entire volume of a journal, fill out the article request form but leave the pages and title fields blank. Indicate in the Notes field that you want the entire volume.
