March/April 2000HEALTH INFONET RECEIVES NLM FUNDING Health InfoNet of Jefferson County was one
of 49 health information projects across 34 states to receive funding by
the National Library of Medicine as part of an initiative to help the public
use online health information. Dr. Donald Lindberg, Director of the
National Library of Medicine, made the announcement about the funding initiative,
noting that these projects are "imaginative and well-targeted" and that
"they will stimulate medical libraries, local public libraries and other
organizations to work together to provide new electronic health information
services for all citizens in a community."
