Special Art for Purchase

This summer, the Alabama Museum of the Health Sciences (AMHS) is hosting a special exhibition that promotes and supports two unique UAB related projects, the Helen Keller Art Show of Alabama and the Helen Keller International Art Show. And you can both benefit from and assist their work.

Through October 1, 2012, we have on display dozens of original art made by school children across the country who have some degree of sensory impairment. This beautiful work was selected and toured through either the state or across the country to highlight the creative nature of those who are visually impaired, blind or deafblind. With a suggested minimum donation, you can take home, back to the office or decorate your department with one or more of these masterpieces that were featured in previous shows. Some artwork is priced as low as $15. All pieces are professionally framed and ready to be hung in your space.

Sales are on a first come, first serve basis. And wall space may be replenished as art is sold. Checks (made out to Helen Keller Art Show - CEC/DVI) or cash are accepted with all proceeds going to the traveling and framing expenses related to the Helen Keller Art Shows.

The AMHS is open Monday Friday, 9am - 5pm, and located on the third floor of UAB Lister Hill Library, 1700 University Boulevard. Ask for a staff person to assist when you arrive.
