Graphic/Media Designer Position
The Digital Media Commons is a state-of–the-art media facility serving students and faculty across disciplines here in the College of Arts and Sciences.

We are looking to hire a student who can produce top-quality graphic design for our projects. The majority of our projects will require web graphics only, but expect a variety of design goals. Examples of projects: academic department web banner, interface design for mobile app, event invite to be sent by email, web buttons, video intros, etc.
up to 20 hours a week at $10 an hour.
Full-time student at UAB
Significant experience with Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop, Illustrator)
Interest in learning new things
Ability to communicate accurately and consistently
Vision to lead a design concept
Value for others' opinions
Flexible enough to compromise on a design concept
Comfortable working on iMacs
Desired skills (not required):

Try to have more than 5 works in your portfolio. Though quality is more important to us than quantity, make sure you include as many works as you can.
Show off your web graphics experience. Don't forget things you've done for the web, even if it's as simple as a customized e-card or graphic button. We want to see it all.
That said, please don't leave out your other work or shy away from this position if your experience is heavy in print or other.
