StoryCorps, the largest oral history project aimed at preserving the stories of everyday people, is an inspiration to UAB Media Studies. The StoryCorps interview, where a loved one interviews another loved one, is a common introductory assignment for several UAB Media Studies courses. Students develop their interviewing and filmmaking skills by interviewing a family member or close friend.
