The Center, in collaboration with other units on campus, supports multiple funded projects focused on pain in patients with knee osteoarthritis. Among these is the NIH-supported Multicenter Osteoarthritis Trial (MOST; Floyd) and the NIH-funded grant “Understanding Pain and Limitations in Osteoarthritic Disease (UPLOAD)” (Bradley, Edberg, Redden with R. Fillingim) that assesses differences between African American and European American adults with knee OA. The uses behavioral pharmacology techniques to evaluate potential new treatments for traumatic brain and spinal cord injury (Floyd) and “Lifestyle Physical Activity for Fibromyalgia” (Fontaine) are also highlighted.
