To build the scientific infrastructure of the university, the Center has adopted a strategy of a) competing for extramural support for core activities (P30, P60, CERTs, P01), b) partnering with other Centers for competitive NCRR equipment grants (High Resolution Imaging, High Speed Flow Cytometry, Biacore, Transgenic Animals), c) partnering with other Centers for institutional leveraging dollars (Imaging, Flow, Transgenic Animals, PAAM, Molecular Genetics), and d) investing UWIRC monies to seed new cores and new core activities (e.g., Flow, Imaging, Transgenic Animals, PAAM, Molecular Genetics, High Performance Computing, Methodology). In addition, the Center has provided infrastructure support for both personnel and financial management including billing, service contracts, and supplies.
