Cardiology Fellows will be required to maintain the equivalent of a half day clinic per week during each year of the training program. They will gain expertise in the outpatient evaluation and management of cardiovascular problems, as well as an understanding of the natural history of these conditions over an extended period of time.

Patient Population

People with a wide variety of hypertension conditions that include:
  • Complicated or high-risk hypertension
  • Isolated systolic hypertension
  • Labile and fluctuating hypertension
  • Severe or difficult-to-treat hypertension

Outpatient Services

  • 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring
  • Hormonal and kidney assessments by 24-hour urine evaluation
  • Screening for possible secondary causes of hypertension such as renal artery blockage, hyperaldosteronism
  • Electrocardiogram (ECG)
