The UAB Nuclear Cardiology Research Program involves large single- and multi-center trials and investigator-initiated projects that deal with imaging-specific and disease-specific problems. The emphasis is on new ideas that impact patient care.

NOTE: The study protocols rely upon our rich database as well as on prospective studies involving patients with various cardiac disorders such as diabetes mellitus, chronic kidney disease and coronary heart disease as examples. We rely on a team of experienced faculty and involve our cardiology trainees, research nurses and research fellows and other support personnel.

We seek opportunities for collaboration with other groups both within and outside the UAB Health System. We have regular research meetings and make every effort to present some of the work in our CME-approved nuclear conferences. |
