||The goal of the Nuclear Cardiology rotation is to introduce the Cardiology Fellow to the clinical protocols, basic technical aspects, and image interpretation associated with nuclear cardiology practice.

|Details about certification requirements are available at the ACC (www.acc.org), ASNC (www.asnc.org), and CBNC (www.cbnc.org) websites. Attendance at the ongoing Nuclear Physics Course (Course Director: Dr. Jack Heo) is mandatory for Cardiology Fellows who desire Level 2 certification and wish to become eligible for board certification by CBNC.
Additional didactic instruction on the technical fundamentals of nuclear imaging is provided by E. Lindsey Tauxe, CNMT, and the Nuclear Cardiology attendings in the form of lectures and laboratory exercises. Fellows are responsible to maintain a detailed procedure log.
Fellows who fulfill the requirements for Level 2 certification will receive a letter from Dr. Iskandrian at the end of their training which will document the training experience and skill level achieved. A copy of this letter should be given to the program office and will be maintained in the Fellow’s file in case of future inquiries by licensing agencies, hospitals etc. Level 3 training will require additional subspecialty training.
