Abstract GuidelinesThe UAB Comprehensive Cardiovascular Center (CCVC) is sponsoring a trainee poster session highlighting the work of graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, clinical fellows, and residents. The session will be held in conjunction with the CCVC 3rd Annual Symposium Frontiers in Diabetes-Related Cardiovascualar Disease, From Bench to Bedside to the Community.
Deadline for Abstracts: August 15th, 2014 for consideration of oral presentation and the Featheringill Young Investigator Award; September 15th, 2014 for acceptance as a poster presentation only.
Eligibility: Graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, clinical fellows, and residents.
Abstract Guidelines: Limit abstract to 500 words or less, excluding title and authors. Presenting author should be listed first. Abstract format should consist of: Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusions/Broader Impacts, Acknowledgements. Include author affiliations. References not required. Use Times New Roman, 12pt font for body; justified, single line spacing, 1 inch side margins, 0.5 inch top and bottom margins. Submit as a PDF. Figures and tables are allowed. All abstracts will be assigned to poster presentations.
Topics can include basic, clinical, translational and population science that are broadly related to cardiovascular disease. Priority for oral presentations will be given to submissions related to diabetes and cardiovascular disease. All abstracts will be assigned to poster presentations.
Awards will include the Featheringill Young Investigator Award and cash prizes
Featheringill Young Investigator Award: The primary authors of the top 3 abstract submissions will be selected to present a 15 minute session at the symposium on October 4th. The top presentation will be awarded the Featheringill Young Investigator Award. Authors selected to present at the symposium will be notified September 1st.
Poster presentation and cocktail reception will be held the evening of Friday, October 3rd, 2014.

Registration is required for abstract submission. Trainees may attend the conference at no charge.
