Call for Trainee Abstracts
The UAB Comprehensive Cardiovascular Center (CCVC) is sponsoring a trainee poster session highlighting the work of graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, clinical fellows, and residents. The session will be held in conjunction with the CCVC 2nd Annual Symposium Focus on Cardiovascular Repair & Regeneration. Trainees are invited to submit abstracts on basic, clinical, translational and population science that are broadly related to cardiovascular disease.
Deadline for Abstracts EXTENDED: September 16, 2013 for consideration of the Featheringill Young Investigator Award
To be considered for the Featheringill Young Investigator Award you must submit an abstract by September 16, 2013
Abstracts will be accepted for the poster session up to October 1st. Abstracts submitted after September 16th are eligible for poster awards, but will not be considered for the Featheringill Young Investigator Award.
Eligibility: Graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, clinical fellows, and residents.
Abstract Guidelines: Limit abstract to 500 words or less, excluding title and authors. Presenting author should be listed first. Abstract format should consist of: Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusions/Broader Impacts, Acknowledgements. Include author affiliations. References not required. Use Times New Roman, 12pt font for body; justified, single line spacing, 1 inch side margins, 0.5 inch top and bottom margins. Submit as a PDF. Limit abstract to 500 words, excluding title and authors. Presenting author should be listed first. Abstract format should consist of: Rationale, Methods, Results, and Conclusions. Include author affiliations, references not required. Figures and tables are allowed. All abstracts will be assigned to poster presentations.
Awards will include the Featheringill Young Investigator Award and cash prizes
Featheringill Young Investigator Award: The primary authors of the top 3 abstract submissions will be selected to present a 15 minute session at the symposium on October 26. The top presentation will be awarded the Featheringill Young Investigator Award. Authors selected to present at the symposium will be notified October 1.
Poster presentation and cocktail reception will be held the evening of Friday, October 25.
