Biostatistics and Analysis Core

The objectives of the Biostatistics Core are to provide access to statistical, epidemiologic, data management, and bioinformatics support to CFAR investigators for the design of studies and the development of research proposals.

Services

General service and support aims:

• Provide general statistical services including those involving study design, power analysis, many types of data analysis, consultation on interpretation of results, aiding investigators in writing up their results.
• Provide support for data collection, management, and security.

Training/Education

• Provide formal education and training to in-house (UAB) investigators to provoke and inspire the use of cutting edge statistical tools and to facilitate their valid use.
• Facilitate dialogue, education and training among HIV/AIDS investigators on a national level to provoke and inspire the use of cutting edge statistical tools and to facilitate their valid use.
