DescriptionThe regularly scheduled Neurology Grand Round Session will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 8:00 a.m. in the West Pavilion Conference Room E. The conference will be presented by Dr. Gil Rabinovici, M.D., Assistant Professor in Neurology, University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Memory and Aging Center. The topic of discussion will be Amyloid Imaging in the Evaluation of Dementia: Diagnostic Paradigm Shift or limited Research Tool? The objectives will be for the audience to benefit from the introduction of amyloid PET tracers and summarize arguments for and against clinical use, to summarize data on the clinical utility of amyloid PET in the diagnosis and prognosis of cognitive disorders and to present criteria for appropriate and inappropriate clinical use of amyloid PET.
