The Department of Dermatology provides comprehensive dermatological care to patients, ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics, for the diagnosis and management of diseases of the skin, hair and nails, skin cancer and skin cosmetics.
Skin diseases ranging from minor to difficult are treated by the Department. This includes skin cancers, acne, bacterial and fungal infections of the skin, eczema, psoriasis, pediatric dermatology, pigmented lesions, cutaneous allergies, blistering diseases and photosensitivity disorders.
The Department offers Mohs micrographic surgery for removal of skin cancers, excision of cutaneous melanomas, laser hair removal, laser treatment of vascular and pigmented lesions and tattoos. The Department has a full range of ultraviolet light sources for treatment of dermatological diseases. Patch testing is performed for contact allergies.
Cosmetic dermatology services include laser treatment of wrinkles and acne scars, photorejuvenation, tumescent liposculpture, sclerotherapy, chemical peels, ambulatory phlebectomy, Botox and other dermal fillers. The Department also conducts numerous clinical trials.
