Dell'Italia to present September CRS

Lou Dell'Italia, MD, Professor of Medicine, Pathology and Cell, Developmental, and Integrative dellitaliaBiology; Co-director, UAB Comprehensive Cardiovascular Center; and Associate Chief of Staff, BVAMC, will present "Does isolated mitral regurgitation require a new paradigm for medical therapy and surgery?" at the September 23rd Clinical Research Seminar at 12:00 noon in West Pavilion Conference Room E.

The CRS is a one hour seminar where junior and senior faculty at UAB present their clinical research findings to the residents, fellows and faculty of the Department of Medicine.  It is sponsored by the Department of Medicine Chairman's Office and the Rearch Development Group.

Research Spotlight

Kirk Habegger, PhDKirk Habegger, PhD

Dr. Kirk M. Habegger is Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. He obtained his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Indiana University School of Medicine in 2006. He conducted his postdoctoral training under the mentorship of Drs. Matthias Tschoep and Randy Seeley at the Metabolic Diseases Institute of the University of Cincinnati from 2009 to 2013. He was promoted to the faculty at UC in the Department of Medicine, before leaving to start his group at UAB.
