Anitra Baylor, DOM Employee of the Month for June 2014!

Anitra Baylor has been selected as the Department of Medicine Employee of the Anitra BaylorMonth for June 2014!   Anitra was notified June 3rd by Jason Daniel, DOM Executive Administrator, LaKisha Mack, DOM Operations Administrator and Dr. Mona Fouad, Division Director.  Anitra is a Financial Officer III and Co-Administrator in the Division of Preventive Medicine.

Dr. Fouad writes, “Ms. Baylor's job performance has set a very high standard for the entire Division. She has an extensive knowledge of financial management in a wide array of research projects.  She is results-oriented and takes the necessary actions to accomplish her objectives accurately and efficiently without fail.”  Anitra is known for her natural leadership abilities.  She takes ownership of challenges and issues that emerge with bold initiative and creativity and inspires others not to be discouraged by adversity.  She is compassionate and she truly cares about others.

Research Spotlight

Kirk Habegger, PhDKirk Habegger, PhD

Dr. Kirk M. Habegger is Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. He obtained his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Indiana University School of Medicine in 2006. He conducted his postdoctoral training under the mentorship of Drs. Matthias Tschoep and Randy Seeley at the Metabolic Diseases Institute of the University of Cincinnati from 2009 to 2013. He was promoted to the faculty at UC in the Department of Medicine, before leaving to start his group at UAB.
