Cherrington becomes Assistant Program Director for Research

Dr. Andrea Cherrington became the Assistant Program Director for Research for the Tinsley Harrison Internal Medicine Residency program

Lisa L. Willett, MD, FACP (Associate Professor of Medicine and the Director of Tinsley Harrison Internal Medicine Residency Program at UAB) announced that Dr. Andrea Cherrington became the Assistant Program Director for Research for the Tinsley Harrison Internal Medicine Residency program on October 1, 2013.

Dr Willett states:
I am delighted to announce that October 1, 2013, Dr. Andrea Cherrington became the Assistant Program Director for Research for our residency program. Dr. Cherrington was a UAB IM resident and chief resident in 2002-2003. She then completed fellowship in the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar’s Program at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Her research interests include community based interventions to promote diabetes prevention and management. She has been very successful as an independent investigator and mentor. In her role, Dr. Cherrington will direct the ABIM Research Pathway and develop research and scholarship opportunities for all our residents. Please join me in congratulating her in her new role.
