First- and second-year medical students may shadow an emergency department faculty member through arrangements with the Office of Education in the Department of Emergency Medicine.

These early clinical experiences serve to highlight the diversity and importance of the emergency department in the health care delivery system.

It is recommended that students schedule no more than four hours at one time and pre-arrangements are required.
