Education:
Ph.D. in Cell Biology, University of Alabama at Birmingham, 2001

Research Experience:
Post-doctoral Fellow, Department of Molecular Biology and Cancer, Samuel Lunenfeld Research Institute, Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, Canada (2001-2006)
Research Associate, Department of Medicine, University of Alabama at (2007-2011)
Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, University of Alabama at Birmingham, (2011-present)

Research Interests:

I am interested in all aspects of cellular and molecular mechanisms of growth hormone (GH) action and GH receptor (GHR) signal transduction. Current research is focused on the understanding of: 1) the mechanisms of inducible GHR metalloproteolysis and its role in the regulation of GH sensitivity; 2) crosstalk between the GH and the insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) signaling pathways.
