UAB Center for Exercise Medicine is a proud sponsor of the Girls on the Run program at Glen Iris Elementary School in the Birmingham City Schools system.


Girls on the Run is a powerful and highly successful character development program offered after school with lessons that encourage positive emotional, social, mental, and physical development. Physical activity is woven into the program to inspire an appreciation of fitness and to build habits that lead to a lifetime of health.
