Basic laboratory research in the UAB Department of Ophthalmology includes investigation into the basic mechanisms underlying eye disease with the long-term goal of developing effective treatments for blinding disorders. The mission of the Ophthalmology Clinical Research Unit (CRU) is to increase the clinical research capability at UAB in the area of eye disease and vision impairment so that UAB investigators can develop high quality research programs and enhance existing ones. |
