The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is accepting applications for a 12 month faculty position in Genetic Counseling Program, Department of Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences, School of Health Professions (SHP); with a corresponding administrative assignment as Program Director, Genetic Counseling Program. SHP is one of our nation’s largest and most diverse schools of its type with more than twenty programs at the baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral levels. Faculty rank and tenure status are commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum qualifications include board certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC), and a Master’s Degree in Genetic Counseling. Prior teaching, and/or administrative experience in an academic setting, clinical experience in genetic counseling, and a PhD is desirable. Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience. In addition to research, teaching, and service; the corresponding administrative assignment as Program Director include responsibilities of providing leadership, ensuring quality, supervising administration of the Genetic Counseling Program, and ensuring compliance with program accreditation requirements.
