This year, IGGP students attended the two-day Department of Genetics retreat at the Alabama 4-H Center. The rich scientific program of the first day was followed by a day of fun in the sun, playing and building friendships on the low-rope course at 4-H.

The title of his talk was "Systems Genetics: Moving toward a new paradigm in integrative and translational research." In the right panel, Ludwine Messiaen, Ph.D. (Department of Genetics, UAB), gives her lecture.

On the second day, after a continental breakfast in the lodge dining room facing the beautiful lake, students and faculty participated in a fun-filled team-building activity on the low ropes course.
