  • Mock Interviews: Mondays and Wednesdays, September 17-October 24, 2018. Sign-up email will be sent in August.

  Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award        
                                        

This award is presented to the student and faculty member who best demonstrate the Foundation's ideals of outstanding compassion in the delivery of care, respect for patients, their families, and healthcare colleagues, as well as demonstrated clinical excellence.

     Match Day 2018
 
  • Match Day is Friday, March 16, 2018, in the Jemison Concert Hall, at the Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center.
  • The program will begin at approx. 10:50am CDT, and students may open their match envelopes at 11am CDT.
  • There are no limits to the number of guests you may invite to Match Day, and tickets are not required for entrance. 
  • Parking: There is no assigned parking for Match Day. Please prepare your guests they may have to park several blocks from the Alys Stephens Center. Guests with disabilities can be dropped off on the lower level of the Alys Stephens Center.

  • Friends Group link is here. Deadline for Friends Group is 5pm, March 8.
  • The name called at Match Day, and the name printed on your Match letter is the one you used when you registered with the NRMP. We cannot change this. 
  • Suppressed Information: If your information is listed as "Suppressed" in GRASS, we cannot call your name nor print it in Match-related results. To release your information, visit the Student Portal page, and click on the Personal Information link.

 Commencement Button
   Commencement 2018

  • The 2018 Commencement Ceremony is Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Bartow Arena.
    • The 2019 ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, May 19, 2019. 
  • The ceremony will begin at 1pm, and lasts approximately two hours. (Doors will open to the Bartown Arena at 12pm, rain or shine). 
  • The Military Promotion Ceremony will begin at 10am, in the Green & Gold Room.
  • There are no limits to the number of guests you may invite to Commencement, and tickets are not required for entrance. 
  • Parking: There is no assigned parking for Commencement.
    • There are a limited number of parking spots for guests with disabilities. Spots are reserved on a first-come-first served basis, and we can only reserve one spot per student. Students may submit a parking space request here. Note: We might not be able to accommodate all requests. Guests can be dropped off near the entrance. Request must be submitted by 5pm, May 4. We are unable to extend this deadline.  
  • Ordering Regalia: Each student is responsible for ordering and picking up his/her own regalia. The link for ordering regalia will go live on February 15. If you have any questions, contact Greer Hallmark at Barnes & Noble at UAB. Deadline for ordering regalia is April 27.
  • Ordering Announcements: Order directly through Balfour
  • Ordering Diploma Frame: Barnes & Noble has designed a diploma frame for the School of Medicine. Click here for more information and how to order.

  • Name Changes: The name called at Commencement will be the name listed in GRASS. If you want/need to change this, login into the Online Records Request site, and find the documents you need to complete this process. If you have questions about this, contact Michael Busbin, in the SOM Records Office. To ensure your name is changed in time, we recommend you communicate with the Records Office as soon as possible.
