About UsThe Huntsville Regional Medical Campus of the University of Alabama School of Medicine offers a community-based clinical education program for junior and senior medical students in the University of Alabama School of Medicine. Through its full two-year curriculum, Huntsville provides all required and elective clinical experience necessary for completion of the M.D. degree. Students may complete all or part of their clinical training here.
Huntsville's clinical component has been planned from the outset as a community-based program, including in its educational program the physicians, professional personnel, and clinical facilities already established in the area. Physicians and other health professionals throughout North Alabama work with the Huntsville campus faculty to plan and teach the undergraduate and Family Practice resident programs. Over 250 physicians from Huntsville and towns ranging as far west and east as Red Bay and Centre serve as clinical faculty.
UAB School of Medicine Huntsville Regional Medical Campus one of 16 recipients of the 2011 Program of Excellence Award to Family Medicine Interest Groups.
