HRPI Application & Curriculum Information

Admission Information

To qualify for this program a student should:
  1. Be completing at least 4 semesters of coursework
  2. Have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
  3. Have ACT or MCAT scores above 20 (or SAT scores higher than 1200)
  4. Be an Alabama resident
Students from rural areas are given priority in the selection process.  A maximum of 20 students will be chosen for the internship. Each student receives a stipend to cover housing, transportation, meals and MCAT tutorial.


The 2014 application deadline was Feb. 28, 2014.  
Applications for the 2015 Summer Internship will be available in late November 2014. Your pre-health advisor will be notified when the 2015 application process opens.

Applications for 2014 will be reviewed and those selected for a videoconference interview will be notified in mid-March 2014. 

Important Dates

                November 18, 2013: Applications available
                February 28, 2014: Deadline for applications
                May 27, 2014: Arrive in Huntsville - set up housing in dormitory
                May 28,2014: Begin Internship
                July 18, 2014: Final Day
