Seminar title: "A Crystal Ball for AMD?: predicting prognosis and progression"
Summary of Hogg's research interests:
My interests include the epidemiology of age-related ocular disorders and in particular age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
Key areas include:
1. The identification of sensitive markers of early disease and its progression, including serological, psychophysical and imaging biomarkers.
2. The integration of information from multiple imaging modalities and its relevance to disease progression.
3. The development of clinically useful psychophysical procedures for identifying early AMD deficits.
4. The relationship between lifestyle factors and AMD development, particularly nutrition with the intention of exploring the potential of slowing progression or prevention of AMD via behaviour modification in those considered at high risk
