Research interests
Dr. Gnann’s research interests include clinical trials of antiviral therapies for diseases caused by herpesviruses, respiratory viruses, and hepatitis viruses; mechanisms of viral resistance to antiviral drugs; opportunistic viral infections in HIV-positive patients; and vaccines to prevent human viral infections. He is the Medical Director of the UAB 1917 Clinic and co-investigator for the NIAID Collaborative Antiviral Study Group.
