Dr. Tang's ongoing research focuses on genetic and epigenetic contributions to infection and immunity in human populations. Immunogenetic studies deal with genes (e.g., HLA and KIR) that govern innate and adaptive immune responses to infectious diseases, especially HIV/AIDS and viral hepatitis.
