Tinsley Harrison Internal Medicine Residency Program                        Excellence Without Ego

At a population of over 1 million, Birmingham, Alabama, has all of the amenities of a big city while still maintaining the warmth and hospitality of a Southern town. In recent years, our city has undergone its own cultural renaissance, with new restaurants, breweries, music venues, and theatres popping up on every corner. In 2015, Zagat named Birmingham the #1 Next Hot Food City and Forbes named Birmingham the Most Affordable City in which to live in 2015.

We have everything from farmers markets and art festivals to urban parks and performances by our very own St. Paul and the Broken Bones and the Alabama Shakes. Birmingham is a city that has something for everyone, and it is a vibrant backdrop for the extraordinary residency training we experience.

Take a quick tour of the Magic City at this Garden and Gun gallery, and watch the TedX Birmingham video below to get a feel for the city our residents are proud to call home.
