Core Facilities
UAB Core Facilities include state-of-the art equipment and expertise for: analytic genomics, high throughput sequencing, transgenic mouse production, biostatistics and bioinformatics, drug discovery, clinical research support, tissue procurement, flow cytometry, high resolution microscopy and imaging, histology, microbiome, gnotobiotic animals, small animal imaging, protein purification and analysis, mass spectrometry, proteomics, NMR, X-ray crystallography and many others.
Research Centers
UAB Research Centers play a key role in fostering the collaborative atmosphere at UAB. These centers bring together faculty and students from diverse disciplines to address specific problems, and usually focus on a broad area of human disease like cancer. This interdisciplinary approach allows researchers to address scientific problems from a broad perspective, leading to new insights and solutions to biomedical problems.
