Dr. Bailey joined the faculty as Clinical Associate Professor of Neurology on March 1, 2010 from Alabama Neurology and Pain Medicine, a private practice in Pelham, Alabama. He received his D.O. from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, Pamona, California in July of 1992. He received his Ph.D. in anatomy and finished his dissertation during his first year of osteopathic medicine in California.

Following medical school, he completed an internship in 1993 at Baptist Medical Centers, Birmingham, and completed his residency training in neurology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Medicine in 1996.

From 1996 to 2000, he served as Chairman of the Department of Neurology at Norwood Clinic/Carraway Methodist Medical Center. During the period from 1999 through January 2010, he served as Instructor/Adjunctive faculty for the Department of Neurology at UAB and also served as Medical Director for Alabama Neurology and Pain Medicine.

Dr. Bailey was board certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in 1999 and additionally certified by that board in pain medicine in 2004.
