Personal Info:
Dr. Claussen received her M.D. degree in 1988 from Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Following that, she completed a one-year internal medicine residency at UAB from 1988-1989, a three-year neurology residency at UAB from 1989-1992, and then completed a fellowship in clinical electromyography and neuromuscular disease. She is now an Associate Professor with the Department of Neurology, Associate Director of the Neuromuscular Disease Laboratory, and is a Co-Director of the UAB Muscular Dystrophy (MDA) Clinic.

Dr. Claussen was not only board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology in 1994, but with added qualifications in clinical neurophsysiology in 1996.
