Dr. Rinker, a native of Charlotte, N.C., graduated from medical school and received his M.D. degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. He completed a one-year internship in internal medicine in 2002 and a three-year neurology residency training program in June of 2005 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis. Following his residency training, he worked under the mentorship of Dr. Anne Cross at Washington University School of Medicine for two years, completing a post-doctoral fellowship and mentored training program in clinical investigation in June of 2007. The Department of Neurology is pleased that he has accepted the position of Assistant Professor in the Division of Neuroimmunology and Multiple Sclerosis Center starting July 9, 2007.

  1. Biomarkers for disability outcomes in multiple sclerosis (MS)
  2. Ethnic differences in MS, specifically in disability outcomes and in immune function, and the inter-relationship between the two
  3. Immunological differences between clinical subtypes of MS
