Equal Access Birmingham will host its inaugural Heart + Sole 5K/Fun Run on Saturday, Sept. 6, to raise funds for the School of Medicine student-run free clinic, which provides education and health care to Birmingham’s uninsured and underserved.
The Best Medicine Show, a variety show featuring performances from UAB medical students, will raise funds for Equal Access Birmingham.
The student-operated Equal Access Birmingham Clinic celebrated its first anniversary of providing no-cost healthcare to underserved populations in Birmingham on Nov. 11.
This screening event is free and open to all as part of Equal Access Birmingham’s goal to provide healthcare education and address the needs of the locally underserved.
Birmingham residents can use the free site to locate programs and services on healthy eating, physical activity, healthy families, support, education and healthcare.
The funds will support an endowment to help the student-run Equal Access Birmingham be sustainable.
