Welcome to the Division of Women’s Reproductive Healthcare, a division of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University Of Alabama School Of Medicine at UAB. Established in July 2007, the Division was created in order to consolidate the general obstetric and gynecologic services of the department into one coordinated group. We offer comprehensive women’s health care including obstetrics, benign gynecologic care and surgery, pediatric gynecology, menopausal management, and minimally invasive surgery including robotic surgery. The Division’s main clinical office space is in the UAB Women and Infants Center and provides a comfortable setting for patient care with onsite lab, ultrasound, and screening mammography. The Division also has clinical offices at Children’s Hospital, the Birmingham VA Medical Center, and the Gynecology Continuity Clinic. If more specialized care is required, we provide seamless access to the other subspecialty divisions of UAB Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as to other UAB clinical specialists. For more information on our clinical care, please follow the links below.
In addition to patient care, our faculty serves as the primary source of ambulatory gynecologic education for medical students and Ob/Gyn residents, and is a major source for benign gynecologic surgical education for Ob/Gyn residents. Our faculty teaches medical students and Ob/Gyn residents in all of our ambulatory locations as well as the UAB OR. The major focus of our ambulatory education occurs at the UAB GYN Resident Continuity Clinic, which sees patients Monday through Friday of each week. The Division serves a key role in the didactic education of medical students in the classroom as well. Members of our Division serve as the MS-3 clerkship director and the MS-2 Reproductive Pathology Clinical Course Director.
