Welcome to UAB Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery, a division of the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Academically, we have an ABOG certified, three- year Female Pelvic Medicine/Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship Program that is designed to provide advanced training for physicians in the clinical care (both surgical and non-surgical) of patients with pelvic floor disorders; to expand knowledge in obstetrics and gynecology, urology, colorectal surgery and geriatric medicine; and to instruct and mentor in the planning and performing of meaningful research in this field. The division’s areas of research include medical, behavioral, and surgical management of urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and pelvic floor disorders in women. We receive research funding from the NIDDK, NICHD, the John A. Hartford Foundation, the American Geriatrics Society, and various industry sponsors.
