Marcia A. Lowe, MSN, RN-BC, earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Nursing from Tuskegee Institute in 1983 and a Master's of Science in Nursing Education with honors from Samford University in 2002. Marcia has 28 years of professional nursing experience which includes Post-Anesthesia Care, Medical Surgical, Research, Management, Endoscopy/ GI Medicine, Performance Improvement, Palliative Care and Nursing Education. Marcia is a certified Gerontological nurse. She is actively involved in many community health initiatives and is a promoter of health promotion and disease prevention. She is interested in the quality of health for elders.

Marcia is currently an Advanced Nursing Coordinator in the areas of GI Medicine/Liver Transplant, Endoscopy and Palliative Care at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. Part-Time she is a clinical instructor for Jefferson State Community College. As an Advanced Nursing Coordinator and Educator, she is constantly seeking creative ways to foster dynamic learning environments and to promote quality patient care.

She participates in many community health fairs and is a member of Grant Chapel AME Church, Birmingham, Alabama. She serves in the Women's Missionary Society of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, the Northwest Conference. She serves as organist for Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Birmingham. She is married to Mr. Christopher Lowe of Trussville, AL.
