Profile

Joyce Crump, RN, NP-C, MSN, MBA has a background in nurse management, training and development, research and business management. She began her career as a corporate newspaper editor for a medical equipment manufacturer. This experience encouraged her interest in health services and she later pursued degrees in business and nursing. In December 2011 she completed an advanced practice degree in the UAB Family Nurse Practitioner program and is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Ms. Crump has served UAB since 2001. Her experience includes work as a research nurse, business officer and as a projects analyst. Prior to joining UAB Ms. Crump served in hospital and skilled long-term care nurse management positions including clinical services director, administrative positions in quality improvement/risk management and as a PACU nurse manager.

She joined the Center for Palliative and Supportive Care in July 2009 as program manager of the Advanced Illness and Multimorbidity (AIM) Research Program. She also serves as program manager of the Palliative Care Leadership CentersTM UAB training site.
