Profile

Colin Wozencraft was born in Boston, Massachusetts and grew up both there and in central California. He received his undergraduate degree in Religious Studies from the University of Virginia in 1992 and a Master's of Science in Chemistry from the University of Oregon in 1998. Thereafter he attended medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. He completed residency training in Internal Medicine there in 2007, and after working as a general medicine hospitalist for two years, he returned to VCU in Palliative Medicine, completing fellowship training in 2010. Following fellowship training, Dr. Wozencraft served as co-director for the Vietnam Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program of Harvard Medical School.

He joined the faculty of UAB in 2012, where he focuses on patient care, medical education, and efforts to promote the international development of palliative medicine in resource-limited environments.
