Diagnostic interpretation is made on Body Fluids, including those from the Genito-Urinary, CSF, Gastro-intestinal and Pulmonary tracts.
Specimens are processed in a variety of ways to optimize cellularity and interpretation. Appropriate ancillary tests such as flow cytometry, histologic special stains and Immunohistochemical stains are ordered by Cytopathologists based on microscopic findings and clinical setting.
Cytology testing assists in initial diagnosis, staging, and clinical management of neoplastic, non-neoplastic and infectious processes.
Results on routine Non-GYN specimens are provided within 48 hours of specimen receipt.
