This year was the 48th annual meeting of the Academy of Clinical and Laboratory Physicians and Scientists (ACLPS). This year’s meeting was held at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia on June 6-8th.

robinlorenz5 13-cropped Dr. Robin Lorenz, a Professor in the Department of Pathology and the Assistant Dean for Physician-Scuientist Education, was named as President of ACLPS for a term of one year.

Yaolin Zhou won a Young Investigator Award and gave an oral presentation entitled “How clinical pathologists can guide the evaluation and management of patients with an under-recognized, potentially fatal cause of anemia and thrombocytopenia.” (co-authors were Drs. Marisa Marques and Jill Adamski).
