Which positions are available: 
October 2012:    

• 1 “Categorical” 2012 position that includes 2 years of Pediatrics, 1 year of Adult Neurology, and 2 years of Child Neurology training.
• 1 Reserved Position available to start at the PGY3 level.

Do applicants need to apply separately thru ERAS for Pediatrics for Child Neurology?
     Applicants do NOT need to apply to Pediatrics for the Categorical position.

Do you require a letter of recommendation from the Dean?   Yes

What are your program timelines? 
       We are on the NRMP timeline, although it is highly recommended that applications are submitted prior to Dec 1st  as there are a limited number of interview dates available.

 

International Medical Graduates:

Do you sponsor visa's? 
       Yes, UAB sponsors H-1B and J-1 visas for clinical training programs.  You must have a valid ECFMG certificate.

Do you have a minimum USMLE score cutoff? 
     The program is competitive but does not have a cutoff at this time.

Are there any other specific requirements for IMGs? 
     Must meet Alabama Board of Medical Examiner requirements for State License. Must have completed USMLE steps 1-3 within 7 years of first attempt.
