How many child neurology fellowship positions are available for academic year 2014?   
One “Categorical” Child Neurology Position - This is a five year training program that includes 2 years of Pediatrics, 1 year of Adult Neurology, and 2 years of Child Neurology training.

Do applicants need to apply separately thru ERAS for Pediatrics for Child Neurology?
Applicants do NOT need to apply to the Pediatric Residency Program for the Child Neurology Position.

What are your program timelines? 
We are on the same timeline as the NRMP.  It is highly recommended that applications be submitted prior to Dec 1st  as there are a limited number of interview dates available.  We do not accept applications after December 31st.

What is the interview process?

Applications are accepted through ERAS and reviewed by the program director. Interviews are one (1) day and are combined with the Pediatric Residency Program.
 

International Medical Graduates:

Do you sponsor visa's? 
Yes, UAB sponsors H-1B and J-1 visas for clinical training programs.  You must have a valid ECFMG certificate.

Do you have a minimum USMLE score cutoff? 
The program is competitive but does not have a cutoff at this time.

Are there any other specific requirements for IMGs? 
Must meet Alabama Board of Medical Examiner requirements for State License. Must have completed USMLE steps 1-3 within 7 years of first attempt.
