Drummond, Professor and Chair of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurobiology, Dr. James Meador-Woodruff.

Dr. Smith was recruited to UAB in 1990 as an assistant professor. He was promoted to Professor in 2006 and retired from UAB in July 2016 after nearly 26 years of service. Additionally, Dr. Smith was the Assistant Dean for Admissions for the School of Medicine for 15 years.

Dr. Meador-Woodruff went on to say that “Dr. Smith distinguished himself as one of our Department’s best.
