Dr. Jacqueline Feldman appointed Professor Emerita of Psychiatry, Department of Psychiatry
The University of Alabama System Board of Trustees appointed Jacqueline M. Feldman, M.D., Professor Emerita of Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurobiology in the UAB School of Medicine at its meeting last week. Dr. Feldman earned her medical degree in 1983 from the University of Texas Medical School of Houston. From 1991 – 2013, she served as director of the Division of Public Psychiatry, which houses the Mental Health Center for this area of the city. Dr. Feldman made this program a showpiece for the delivery of care to one of the most vulnerable populations of mentally ill patients that we serve, and opened the clinic as a critical component of both our education research portfolios. She held multiple positions in the Department of Psychiatry, and ended her career as Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs, a role she filled with great distinction. She continues to be engaged with the Department of Psychiatry at UAB, including clinical coverage and ongoing teaching activities. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Feldman on this distinguished appointment.
