Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine Grand Rounds
This conference series is held on each Thursday at 12:00 p.m. (Noon)
An ideal presentation at this clinical conference would include the delivery of a state-of-the-art literature review on any given subject, plus information on our local experience. If the subject involves a clinical topic, then at the very least representative clinical descriptions, functional information, slides of x-rays, slides of histopathology or gross pathology, and a brief review of our own experience in the University of Alabama Medical Center with the clinical entity should be presented, if possible.
This conference requires a significant amount of preparation. Ideally a selected bibliography should be prepared, and copies given to those who attend. Slides should be prepared for a formal talk, such as this conference represents. Preparation of the talk from the "ground up" is important for a detailed understanding about the topic.
