|Joseph C. Sullivan III, MD is a practicing Neuroradiologist and Associate Professor with the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is Board Certified by The American Board of Radiology and holds a Subspecialty Certificate (formerly CAQ) in Neuroradiology.
Dr. Sullivan came to UAB after being on staff at the Medical College of Georgia (now Georgia Regents University Health System) where he had completed his Fellowship in Neuroradiology. He completed his Diagnostic Radiology Residency at The University of South Alabama, after doing his preliminary training in General Surgery at Wake Forest University. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Alabama and obtained his Medical Doctorate at St. George’s University School of Medicine.
He has been on faculty at UAB since 2007 and serves as the Director for the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program as well as the Assistant Director for the Neuroradiology Fellowship Program. Dr. Sullivan teaches at all levels of the medical training curriculum from medical students and medical support staff through subspecialty physicians and physician educators. He also serves on the Dean's Council of Graduate Medical Education as well as several local and national committees associated with the Association of Program Directors in Radiology, the Association of University Radiologists and The American Society of Spine Radiology.
As a Neuroradiologist, Dr. Sullivan has particular interests in Pathologies of the brain and spine, as well as the use of medical imaging in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the brain, head and neck, and spine.
